Nestled in the beautiful Nelson Lakes National Park, Lake Station is a premium beef and sheep station

A legacy of family values and a future focus on regenerative farming and best farming practices

Our focus is on using technology and knowledge to help create a more environmentally friendly, lower impact way of farming, with animal and land health at the forefront.

The farm

Spread over 1,000 hectare near to St Arnaud in the Nelson Lakes National Parks region, Lake Station lies largely over the flat valley floor and is surrounded by mature beech forests on either side.

The Buller river carves its way through the station on its journey to the West Coast and the soaring St Arnaud Ranges frame the valley.

Our animals

Lake Station is a beef and sheep station running Hereford cattle and Romney Poll Dorset Cross Sheep. Our animals and animal welfare are our top priority and we pride ourselves in the stock we raise.

Regenerating the natural environment

Planting out the water ways and steep areas back into native forest is our mission to a more sustainable, regenerative farm, if you would like to know more and join us on our planting days throughout the year follow us on Facebook for the latest updates and planting dates.

Part of the community

The community has been a big part of Lake Station and its success over the generations and we are privileged to continue to support the local community in return.

We're the location of the Nelson Lakes Gliding Club and airfield and support many grass roots community causes and charities.
